Why Fertigation?

Picture
Lower your Nitrogen nutrient budget Grow more clover more dry matter Better quality better stock performance.

For the past 10 years I have been promoting the use of UAN based liquid nitrogen. This type of free flowing product has been applied through most types of spray equipment and injected into irrigation systems very successfully for many years.

The experience I have gained from the many farmers and growers who have used these formulations throughout the country has been invaluable for us all. I have been actively involved with these UAN blends from their formulation to trialling them in the field, recording the results from their use commercial in the rural area

These blends have been used successfully on a wide range of pastures and crops.

The pressure on nutrient nitrogen budgets can be reduced with the use of UAN.

The timing of application and the amounts of product used at these specific times is critical to the success of UAN blends on pasture and crop yields and quality. Experience is essential with this while considering the farms total fertiliser programme.

Reductions in nutrient nitrogen budget levels and Nitrogen costs are very worthwhile.

Ruakara research have recently completed trials on a formulation Reaction Rapid N Plus This formulation is a 27% w/v UAN with specific additives to enhance its effectiveness. Some of these additives are unique and patent to this blend.

The trials confirm that Rapid Nitrogen is more effective when sprayed onto pastures than urea spread on similar situations. The responses from the pastures per Unit of N from Rapid N is up to 9 times greater than it is from solid urea application.

In summary, the trials confirmed that Rapid Nitrogen can be used successfully as a urea replacement without any loss of production, yield or quality.
